This work chronicles the fight between boxers Jack Johnson and Jim Jeffries in 1910, the race riots that followed Johnson’s victory, Johnson’s arrest on white slavery charges, and his subsequent incarceration. The work investigates the intersection between sports, politics, and racism in America.
